How Many Lurkers Do We Have?

I use to have one but I never did much with it so I let it lapse. Are you going to teach a class at Vitrum Studio in the future?

Okay, okay! I admit it it.....I'm a lurker. I feel better already.

I keep an eye on the topics although, as a glass engraver (sand carving) specialising in small crystal / glass awards etc, I work in a slightly different area of 'glass' and wouldn't class myself as a craftsman as such.

I enjoy some of the technical discussions although I am far from familiar with the terminology.

Some of the threads about business, the up & downs, changing tastes, market conditions, how we survive etc I can certainly relate to. These apply just as much to an engraver like me as glass workers.

The one thing that I have learnt over the years is that if you do a good job and maintain high standards then there is just a chance you might get repeat work. On the other hand do a bad job and ...... you know the rest.

To the regular posters - keep up the good work and thanks for your lively threads.

To the lurkers - Move aside folks, I'm coming home ..........

Belated lurker here too. Lampworking, fusing, silversmithing, trying out stained glass, always on the lookout for new information and tips.

the button that says year, type on rec.crafts.glass then hitenter and see some statistics about this group. like the first nuber after the name is how many days active followed by post and replys posted this year The last number is number of other newsgroups posted in. w glass man seen in 130 other groups second is NJB at 98.

Its a cool page that shows who has too much time on their hands

Theres other ways to get data out of this sight with various clicks and views. There are other usnet statistic sites that are equally good.

I've been lurking for years. I make stained glass things as a hobby and give them to my family and once or twice to a friend. I don't sell anything and never will. This is a good time to thank all you regulars for all your helpful tips I've used over the years. Norma
