I am in search of

Opticians lenses - they look like this:

don't need vintage ones, as I want to use them in mycrafts. I have found full sets that sell for hundreds ofdollars, that is too steep for me to spend - I am wondering if anyone here thinks they could make these - there is a strong market for these in the crafting world, and not only would I purchase them, I know you could sell and/or auction them off - websites are selling them 1 for $5...

Does anyone think they could make them for less than $5 each?

Thanks for your time...

Would have been alot easier to see if the seller had not removed the photos so fast, eh. Got any more links to them, but before you go to too much trouble, would you make something custom built for less than $5.00? I'll keep looking, but consider that question.

Please define a little better what you want, 1. Thin true optical lenses with wire bands around them with handles for holding as opticians use 2. Thin true optical lenses but all glass, no metal 3. Thin optical glass with some curve to it but no precise optical curve. 4. Round circles of reasonably thin flat glass that have no optical properties.

First, yes, I would make something custom for less than $5 each, but what I do and what you all do can't be compared...

You can find pictures by looking for "Trial Lens Kit", and you can go here

to see themalso... They are charging $4 for one, I don't want to pay that much :)And, to clarify: 1. Thin true optical lenses with wire bands around them with handles for holding as opticians use 4. Round circles of reasonably thin flat glass that have no optical properties.

Basically, I need the glass with the rim - the rim is what is used to secure the item to the necklace, shrine, altered book, etc... but, the optical part of the lens means nothing to me.... the thickness isn't an issue either....

Thanks!

I don't see how you can beat that price. Cutting clear disks isn't that bad, but fitting those little bands, even if one could get ones hands on them cheap could be a problem. If you want to save cash outlay, you need to learn to use narrow copper foil

I don't know exactly what you mean, the picture is gone or something, but you could try here. Great place for stuff, and I think they started with lenses.
