intro - insanity strikes.

Would someone please slap me. I'm about to go from "hasn't made any stained glass in 10 years" to "is going to have a serious go as a glass "artist" (I'm really just a semi-decent tech who pretends) even though he has to start from scratch".

Yes, I must have finally gone insane. But it's a happy sort of insanity. I was pretty good 10 years ago (not great, but I was learning), and I finally(!!) have a space big enough to start again after 10 years of moving around.

I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be seeing a lot of questions from me!

cheers, Marc ps: domain says "UK", but I'm actually in western Canada, on Vancouver island.

That's a heck of an impressive kiln you have there! Mind me asking how much it cost to build?

Right around $2200 US for the kiln and controller.

I'm in Salt Lake City but I spent 5 weeks in Whistler last summer helping to build a hot glass studio. I enjoyed everywhere I went in BC. Never did get to the Island. I also hang out in the Vancouver Canucks newsgroup. We have a few in there from Nanaimo.

Not bad at all really.

I'd be surprised if there weren't. I'm one of those heretic Canadians though, not being a hockey fan.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled glass crafts newsgroup... :-)

Many of us prefer to play sports than watch. Same preference with sex.

...another Vancouver Islander.

I would prefer to play hockey but I can't so I'll settle for watching the best in the world do it. I can still partake in sex but if somebody is particularly proud of their performance I'll check it out and critique if they would like.
