Does any one know if you can get the chemical or material to make mirrors out of plane glass.

Silver nitrate is the principal chemical used in silver mirroring according to recollection. It is not a clement chemical to work around and the reagent grade is quite expensive. You probably can use a cheaper "technical" grade but good luck finding that in moderate quantities. Because of deviltry by amateurs, insurance considerations and nature of the compound you may also discover that chemical supply houses are more than reluctant to sell anything to home users. Someone here may have another source suggestion.

If you Google +("mirror making" OR "mirror manufacturing" OR "manufacture of mirrors") you should get an insight into the process to allow you decide if you want to get that involved...and that is the point. Given toxicity, equipment, time and cost--just to mention a few points--how it would be practicable to make a mirror out of regular glass when they are much, much more cheaply had finished would be something to think about.
