Like most of us, I hate mudding up lead panels and all the manual labor and intensive cleaning that has to be done. Besides the mess, I have a surgically repaired shoulder that gets tired from all the brushing. So, being a lazy sort, I designed a way to motorize this.
I know there is another powered brush product similar to what I've developed, but mine has ( I think) several advantages. First, a choice of bristles, secondly, brush refills without having to buy another adapter hub, and lastly, designed to fit on a standard power head that is comfortable to handle, rather than an underpowered electric drill that has to be held at an awkward angle.
This will fit on a standard variable speed angle polisher/sander with a
5/8"-11 thread shaft. Makita, Black&Decker, Milwaukee, Craftsman, and even Harbor Freight have this tool. (The Harbor freight model # is 46507.)I have already reordered a small quantity of the hubs and brushes. If you'd like to be the first kid on your block to have this new toy, drop me an email at:

and I'll send you more details and pricing. If you don't already have a polisher/sander, I've made a deal with my local HF store to provide the one mentioned above at a very attractive price.
This system isn't likely to appeal to the home hobbyist because of the cost. It is a real time saver for the professional studio. I took a 48" square bath window and polished the lead to a deep black burnish in about 10 minutes per side and didn't even break a sweat. This will come with a natural tampico bristle for polishing, and nylon bristles for mudding.
