Question On fusing

I just got done fusing my first piece. Its ok But I have some areas where it looks as if it did not fuse all the way. It?s together but there is a line between the colors where the clear bottom glass can bee seen. I would assume the solution would be to soak at fuse temp longer?

Here is my fire log

Room temp to 1100°f ----------420 DPH

1100°f to 1500°f-----------------250 Soak at 1500°f for ten minutes 1500°f to 1050°f-----------------flash vent 1050°f to room temp------------77.7 DPH

I am using system 96 glass clear base, black and yellow top glass cut in varying half inch width strips.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

If the top is smooth you soaked long enough. If your top glass didn't fit together perfectly clear is likely to squeezes up between them. If you want to eliminate that for sure you can work two colors deep with or without a clear base.

Try it again just like before, close the gaps and only go to 1480 and soak for 30 min. I never fuse system96 above 1480 unless I'm looking for something other than a full fuse.

Two Liam's,,, Do you know the odds of that. I have one other in my lifetime. So one of us is going to have to change our names.
