Running pliers?

Anybody know a source for replacement "rubber" tips for running pliers? I seem to go through a pair of tips every month or so. My local source says they can't get them anymore.

If you were nicer to me, I'd send you some as a present.

Instead of replacement tips, how about some of that "tool handle rubber dip?" Seems like it'd be at least as durable, and when it does wear/split, just re-dip.

i have plenty of them. Got them from glass crafters or art glass house. AGH is a pain in the patoot anymore to deal with. Used to be , customer service meant something but now they have turned into jackases when you try to to get info/help. Too big for their britches syndrome!!!!If they keep their current attitude/ staff they will be non- existent within a few years!!! m

That's what I did when mine wore through. I don't actually use them much, but so far it's held up just fine. The problem with that stuff is that eventually it dries out even with the lid on. You might want to tape the top if all you use it for is coating your pliers.

He doesn't play nice with them.... he's rough with his toys, goes back along time.

I do lots of repairs. I use the running pliers with the soft tips to grab onto broken glass and pull it out of the came. There's lots of slivers and grit that stick to the tips and they just get eaten up.

Thanks, Michele. I did find a retail source in TX, but haven't had time to get an order in to him. The darn postage costs more than the tips....
