Stained Glass

I think you'll find that the "regulars" here are pretty darn accomodating and generally offer good sound advice and are a pretty tame bunch. Of course we all have our days.

Hope not.

Nope, just looking to liquidate a glassware shop and trying to ascertain some values (kilns, a lapper, sheet glass, misc.). I didn't single out any individual, just an observation of newsgroups in general. However if the shoe fits...

Bullshit.

You started out by posting here by expounding on your (half)-vast knowledge of HF and it's dangers.

If you don't like newsgroups....why are you posting in them?

If you are IN the glass business, you'd already know the values of the equipment. I know the values of MY equipment, right down to a pair of grozers. And if you aren't in the glass business...what gives you the "expertise" about HF?

If you have equipment or supplies to sell...list it, right here... That's well within the charter of this group.

Or put it on eBay if you just can't stand the newsgroup.

I got my "Doctorate" in HF while putting in 20 years in an oil refinery. What other industries use HF on a large scale?

Yeah - Moon! The semiconductor industry uses one whale of a lot of Hydroflouric Acid manufacturing the chips in your computer!!! And also Sulphuric, Nitric, and boiling Phosphoric. Not to mention a very tricky concoction called Hydrazine. Hal

Didn't say I didn't like newsgroups, just bellicose bungholes with reading comprehension problems which leads them to post off-on-a-tangent insults. Case in point, you.

I know what they were worth when purchased new, which just might be just bit different after a 12 or 15 years of use. Duh.

And if you aren't in the glass business...what gives you the

Metropolitan fire department haz-mat team and college chemistry. Granted the watered down stuff for the hobbiest is less dangerous than industrial applications, however I believe in my first post I mentioned riskiness depends on molarity. And if you are so clueless with regard to the properties of HF, well, Darwin will get around to you eventually.

Already have some interested parties locally, which saves the shipping aggravation.

Would you like instructions on how to configure your killfile?

Naw....just ignorant moron psychobabble trolls like yerself.

Here's an idea for you. Actually two ideas, in case you don't like the first one.

If you have any glass related topics you'd like to discuss and/or disagree with, feel free to do so.

Alternatively, I can add you to the list of people who can just kiss my ass.

Either way, it's OK with me.

I generally do not killfile - and am perfectly aware of how its done, though.

There you go doing personal attacks instead of real conversation. Again - looking at the archives - this is *your* pattern of behavior.

And it isn't newcomers or people recently de-lurked, but anyone that posts on topics not about stained glass, or has a honest disagreement with you - they get the brunt of your ad-hominem attacks and insults (if you hadn't been a participant for the many of years that you would easily be mistaken for a troll when you get in this mode).

I am not quite sure where you get your anger - but it certainly is so out of proportion from what happens on this group, it makes me wonder.....

You have a wealth of experience, that is clear, but you sometimes really disrespect people with an equal or nearly so on this group.

I am posting on this topic specifically to inform you, as a few have before, that this can really detract. You have a lot to offer, but at a VERY steep price of insult and belligerence. As you did to me.

Well, given that you tend to concentrate on STAINED GLASS - to the exclusion and drumming out non-stained glass postings - I am not sure how productive this would be at this time on this group.

Which brings up another point - it is relatively easy to start a new usenet group. Perhaps a rec.crafts.glass.stained.moderated might be a good path for this group to move to - since I see more than one train of thought being shut down by you.

I have no desire to kiss your ass - I do not have this particular fetish you seem to ascribe to so many others on this group.

The point here is that you tend to come on so strong that you shut down and insult so many people - yet have a lot of experience to offer.

It is a crying shame that your behave the way you do. Too bad.
