What's everyone up to?

I was wondering what kinds of projects people are currently working on? I make beads and some fused work, bowls, jewelry pieces and etc. but the most interesting (ie "challenging") thing I've done lately is making small magnifying paperweights that consist of a clear core, a design in a sort of "tube" inside the weight, and a flat, polished bottom. You look down through the tube to see the objects beneath magnified.

I made my first Hollow bead! I have been lampworking since Dec. 04...and so I decided to give it a try. It's not the prettiest I have seen...but I will keep it forever!

working on lamp/unit number 1,080

14" fly with the "correct base"

will sell for a mere pittance of around $2,900 to $3,100.

next will be cutting 5 or 6 16 inch acorns...........one the jigs are set, it takes minutes to cut multiples. Do not have to feed, water, walk or talk to the glass

I just finished a complete re-design of my workshop, moving tables and glass racks around, added in a fusing station just for warm glass work, and splurged on a few new tools/gadgets that I've been eyeing for awhile.

Now that my workspace is ready to go, I'm just about to get started on a 3-panel fireplace screen. I've already designed pattern (in an art noveau style with the help of GlassEye 2000), purchased all my glass and lead came, and am just about to start the cutting and assembly of the first side panel.

I'd like to have it all completed by Summer, but that's pretty much pie in the sky right now. It must just wind up being an early Xmas present to myself....haha

They were cut based on a 35" circle but waved back and forth across the line. They were draped over a dome fiber mold so they have a handkerchief effect. The pieces were ordered by a metalworker and he will finish them. They're for a store in Park City. I'll post pics after they're installed.

I absolutely love your birdbath!

I have a koi pond too...a bit more traditional though, LOL. The cullet idea is awesome. We do the local pond tour...maybe I will make some glass goodies for decoration!
