Designing with a tablet

Hi All,

Was just wondering if anyone uses a tablet PC to design software, aka using a pen instead of a mouse. I just purchaced a Wacom Pc Tablet and it's SO easy to use PC Stitch.

Amber, I do so since more then 10 years. The first tablet I used costed a small fortune then. thanks heaven they are reasonably affordable now. I could not live without. I use a Wacom Bamboo now, which is small and sensitive enough for my kind of work. Not only cross stitch - pretty good for sketching and painting as well, with the appropriate softwares

Amber, you will absolutely *love* your tablet once you get used to it. I have an Intuos and it took a bit to get used to using the mouse and pen on it, but now I wouldn't have it any other way. I've wanted one for many, many years and finally just bit the bullet and plunked down the cash to get one.

For designing and photo touchup that pen is a dream come true.

Ooh - I keep promising myself one of those - but still haven`t got around to it. Lucky you!

Good to "see" you Pat; I was thinking of you yesterday, and had hoped the bad winter of storms hadn't washed you and John off the face of the earth!

Ty, I have the Intuos A4. I also wanted one for many years so I'm glad I got it. I've been playing around with it and love it. I can already feel the difference in neck and shoulder areas. Another really cool thing is that it can recognize my handwriting,

You lucky girl. Enjoy. I had a tablet for years, and it was great to use, especially as for me, I do much work with pencils, charcoal or paints and paper/canvas. With my Wacom tablet I can then put my original piece under the overlay, and do the digital tracing - which I've found much easier than doing the same drawing on the tablet . Not for everything. But, I love the tablet. With the newer MAC, I'm having to upgrade my tablet - so saving up for what I want. OTOH, I've been having a blast with the newest version of Illustrator.

Enjoy.
