Have a good day wherever you are, with, I hope, at least of few of the things that will make you happy. I will be slogging through the snow to visit DD's cat, as DD is away, and so get to watch football at her place, since I don't have the channel, and, I hope, see the Saskatchewan Roughriders beat the Calgary Stampeders.
Dawne, thankful the (Canadian) election is almost over--how can Americans stand such a long long campaign???
Actually, we have a coupon for a free breakfast at IKEA, so there will be a stop in their imported food market for the really good chocolate, and whatever Christmas goodies are on the shelf already.
Happy Thanksgiving. That's my top pick for holidays. I love the turkey and the friendship and the general happiness without any obligations other then to have fun and enjoy yourself.
How do we stand such a loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg campaign, we don't. I think most of us hate it and want it to over. I'm going to change that and say hate isn't strong enough---we despise it.
Thanks Dawne: I saw that weather forecast for the prairies - burrrr. It's an over cast but quite warm day (23 degrees C) here in southern Ontario. We had a lovely TG dinner yesterday at my DSIL's mom's house. Turkey and all the fixings. There were 15 of us there spanning four generations.
I came home with all sorts of lovely bulbs for the garden. June (our hostess) had been given close to 1000 spring bulbs (including amaryllis, camissia, tulips, narcissus, crocus and hyacinths) by one of the family's Dutch relatives who grows bulbs. She doesn't have room for them all, so we were all taking some home. You know what I'm doing today!
And I agree about the elections - I will be so glad when the final tally is done tomorrow night. Right now it looks like a waste of taxpayers' money since the probability of another minority is very strong.
I won't be having turkey, this weekend anyway. I had to work yesterday, and DD is away playing in a women's football tournament in Quebec, so I am by myself. But I was thinking of picking up one of those rotisserie chicken deals at the grocery store, giving Alice and Not Dead Fred each a wing, a luxury they will truly be thankful for. Part of thanksgiving is sharing good things with your friends, after all.
