Hello to Joyce in RSA :-)

Hi Joyce, It's been a LOOONG time since we "spoke". I spoke of you recently on the cruise I took the first of this month. One of the young men taking photos was from Johannesburg and seeing his name tag made me think of you. I told him I had an internet friend who lived in RSA and he wanted to know all about us "talking" on the internet. Are you still enjoying your FANTASTIC StitchAway Fabric Mount? How is the Nativity -- did you get it finished? If so, are there photos we can see??? Well, just wanted to say howdy. I'm glad to see you still look at RCTN now and again. If you ever see any additional charts by the designer of The Sangoma, let me know and we can do some sort of exchange again, OK? CiaoMeow >^;;^<

The Sangoma designer gave up designing to help her son with his business, I was told. Perhaps she'll retire one day and start designing again. I don't have much chance to go to the NS where I got those designs, so am out of touch. I can phone the NS if you really want another of her designs - I'm sure there were a few more, but don't remember any others. I'd love to have another exchange or 2, as I haven't been able to get the last Monica Ferris yet. It was exorbitant last time I saw it on Kalahari.net. Libraries here don't stock them.

I don't really use my beautiful Stitchaway, because my arms are too short, but will use it for a frame one of these days. It's too lovely to be kept hidden. Nice to hear from you again.

Adding to my post, I finished the Nativity years ago, and it went to Australia with DD Margot. It took about 3 years to finish. I never managed to get a complete photo, and Margot hasn't taken one either afaik. It was greatly admired when put in the local exhibition.

The photographer on the cruise ship did know about newsgroups but was not really familiar with them. He was rather surprised to hear that someone living outside of the really big towns was participating in them. As for The Sangoma designer, yes, I would love to have more of her designs if they are in the same vein. And you know MOI -- always happy to participate in any sort of a swap :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I remember now that you had posted about finishing it -- long ago! It was such a beautiful design, one I quite admire but will NEVER think of doing! CiaoMeow >^;;^<
