Needlepoint Canvas Painting Class

After the sale at the Scarlet Thread and quick supper with Ellice at Noodles & Co., I returned to the Scarlet Thread for my handpainting canvas class.

Anna was a little bit disorganized at first, but this was due to have a tremendous sale day at the store. She's extremely talented and charming and the unorganized part was totally understandable. They apparently underestimated the amount of business they would get. Which is great news for any needlework store.

We all managed to jump right into the tracing the design on canvas part. It was the initial applying paint that had us intimidated. But we got over it. It's a beautiful peony design done in lavenders. The class took longer than she anticipated, so we'll be going back to finish our leaves and stems. I am amazed at how good this actually looks. And that I did it myself!

Very quick and yummy!

That is so true - and the store is kind of a tight squeeze, so I imagine when there were a lot of people there earlier it would be really hectic feeling as well. Great description of Anna ;^)

That's great. I'm sure it's lovely - having seen the beautiful worked pieces in Chez Donna, I'm betting that this canvas is just great. And remember - the painting is a guide for your beautiful stitching - not the other way 'round.
