OFF TOPIC Happy Dance

Found a new job today - working at a local catalog sales company for the holiday season. Sounds like a fun place to work. And I get mother's hours! HURRAH

9-2 will be prefect for right now. Can hardly wait for that boy to drive and have a car and a license.

So far, there is nothing I HAVE to have from the catalog that will set me back gobs of money.

Good news. I hope it works out wonderfully and keeps you interested.

I have a friend who works for QVC here. She loves it and says it's fun to talk to the customers, but it costs her a fortune. They have a store just for the employees where she spends the greater part of her salary.

Snicker - I've never really watch QVC - no cross stitch stuff and I like to try on my clothes!

Every so often something comes up and I will admit I've looked there. I bought a couple of purses that were really priced nicely and a few things from their jewelry collection. They are nice to do business with.

I had a little novelty watch that suddenly stopped working after I had it for almost a year. And before anyone asks, no it wasn't the battery. I called them more or less to complain and not expecting much of anything. As a pleasant surprise they asked me to send it back to them and replaced it with a new one immediately. The price was only around $19.98 to begin with. I thought this was really good customer service.

I don't ever watch them on TV but I find it fun to rummage around on their website.

I've been trying

There are some things that are at reasonable price, some things I'd only buy with my discount and some stuff I would never think of buying....

Congratulations! I love my mail order entry seasons at Harry & David. Not only do we get yummy snacks in the break room and get to fantasize about cleaning out the insides of the tanker trucks that deliver the chocolate - with our tongues! - but the people are wonderful to work with. I'm sure some people spend everything they make on holiday gifts - the employee discount make things more affordable, but others work to just keep their family fed and warm during the holidays. One thing I did like about working on the telephones that one year was that I could assure people that, yes, the pears really do grow on the trees that I pass on my way to work every day here in southern Oregon. :-) Liz from Humbug

Glad to hear you are working there Liz! I just saw Betsy (from SOS EGA chapter) last weekend and she is still working for Harry & David as well. My aunt and uncle also live in Medford and yes, the orchards all up and down the valley are beautiful.

and yes, Betsy brought Moose Munch to share :)

I was introduced to Moose Munch this fall when someone brought some to our cottage in Mooseland! Tasty stuff! :)
