OFF TOPIC - looking for an art poster

Of the Ugly Duchess. For what ever reason, DD and I have become increasingly fascinated with her and she wants a poster of UD for her room.

Why not just print out a picture from the one you posted and enlarge it a bit. Not poster size, but big enough to live with for a little while and see if she really wants it after staring at it for a few weeks.

I was fascinated with this picture and went directly to the National Gallery. Apparently you can buy a print from them. I didn't check the price, but they do it in several sizes and would send it.

Was the XS from HAED? I know they have links to get prints. Or if you're really insane, buy the XS, then take the cover pic to a printer and have it enlarged to poster with good resolution. Personally, it would give me nightmares, but that's just me.

Does the National Gallery 'own' the image? How unkosher would it be to use the jpg from the above link and print it on fabric for personal use only?

Try looking for the Artist,Quinten Massys and the 'official' name of the painting 'An Old Woman'. This might be more help.

Thought about that, but we only have a photo printer for color printing and DH won't cooperate on printing it. Might scare the printer.... C

Thanks - this is odd as she seems to be claiming reproduction rights and there is no image.

But, I'll ask DD if she still wants it and we'll go from there

I followed Barbara's link to ebay, didn't see the picture or the ownership clause. There are a lot of thumbnail pictures on the ebay site but quite a few of the larger pictures are awol ... hmmmmmmmmmmmm .......

I'm 98% positive she didn't write the detailed description and went searching for it, but not too hard. I did find a poster of the Ugly Duchess at allposters.com though

Anne, I went to allposters.com and did a search for the ugly Duchess and did not find her. Sorry, your search for ugly duchess returned no items on the first try, this is the reply I got back on the search. Barbara

Earlier Google found her on allposters.com but I couldn't duplicate that search criteria just now. I scrolled through the artists listing and saw Quentin Metsys. Apparently there seems to be some confusion over how to spell the artist's name. Using Quentin Metsys I found her again on allposters.com and art.com

Apparently she has plenty of them to sell; I just went there and it is "more than 10". Now, I do have the Royal Doulton Miniature Character Jug of her. Popped a whole $160 (cat price 450) for her.... I didn't want to look at the prices now. Probably lower, because of the economy, and folk selling off collectibles.
