OT: Difficult gifts

Margaret made me think of asking here - in October I go to the UK for my aunt and uncles Platinum Wedding Anniversary - 70th. Since I won't be buying anything platinum, any suggestions. They always liked seeing moose when they were over here, I thought of a pewter moose, but it seems kind of stupid, if indeed I could even find one. There must be something !

That brought back a memory! Many years ago (we weren't married then), Jim went to Alaska in February for a business trip. He brought me back the most touching and romantic gift..NOT. A pair of moose dropping ear-rings. I wonder when I managed to lose them LOL

Which brings back a memory of mine. One of the best gifts I got when I graduated from HS (I think that's when), was from my oldest sister and was a package of dried "road apples". For those who don't know, it's horse manure. I kept that gift until the flood took it away in '97. :(

Small stitched piece - you do such beautiful crewel work - you have time to do something - a little soft finished piece. I don't know. I tend to go to artsy shops and wait til something unique strikes me - might mean several visits til just the right thing! Would they appreciate a photo of your clan

- maybe with a stitched frame around it, or just a lovely crystal or pewter frame?
