Only partially. I always get my shopping done before Thanksgiving to avoid the crowds. I also decorated the living room and the kitchen. Not as much as usual , but it is what it is. I have not baked anything, wrapped anything , or sent Christmas cards& letters to the relatives and friends I never see all year. Work decided to do a release that started this week and gets sent out Jan 24th to meet a demand made by coporate, so I've been really busy trying to get enough done on that this week and next so it's not hanging over my head while I'm off Christmas week visiting relitives. Wish me luck with that. At least they are taking the network down at work all weekend so I will try to get wrapping, cards, and possibly some baking done this weekend and figure out what my dish to pass will be for works holiday lunch on Wednesday. It has to be quick, easy, and not a dessert. Suggestions welcome

Phew that's busy - this is sort of a recipe I do but I just do the pancakes (English style), lay smoked salmon on them and spread them with soft goat cheese, otherwise doing it his way. They are popular when I make them. Can be done ahead, I usually make and freeze.

Cheryl...you think it bad. I don't have a clue what to get JIm.There are two books he wants, and they will becoming from the author, duly autographed. They were part of the same part of the Air Force, and I had bought him the first three books from Amazon way bac. Larry's two airborne books (Jim's field) should be out, and larry is mailing them to me.

Otherwise I am stuck. He commented on a gizmo for the computer...but didn't want it. I think I am getting an Ipad. The only way I would get use from it is if I was away from the home WiFi....and I said I would be happy to pay a usage bill.

It is so hard when you are our age..need absolutely nothing , and if you want it you buy it...after lots of research!

Got a crockpot? For one work potluck, I brought cooked pasta, browned beef, jarred tomato sauce, dumped them all in on Warm, and a few minutes before lunch, stirred in ricotta and mozzarella for "lasagne". They loved it.
