I made a mushtake the level was 19 feet not 29! A fair number of river side properties within the city nearly always need sandbagging as those FAT CATS refuse to allow permanent dikes on their property. Boo Hoo NOT!

You are right it is a mess for others. River is rising or falling at the rate of about 1 foot an hour depending on where one is located. The floodway diverts water around the city but it empties back into the river north of here so no matter what, areas to the south and north of the city can have problems. Farmers and market gardeners are getting hit, hopefully we get some wind that will dry things up in time for planting season. Last time I looked tomatos were $1.25 each, cauliflower around $2.89 each.

Thanks for thinking of us, Sheena!

The Red crested in Fargo on Saturday at 38.75 feet. It's about a week later when it crests here, so I suppose it will crest in Winterpeg about 2 weeks after that.

After last year, Fargo was well-prepared for the flood this year. Mother Nature continues to let us know that she's in charge, though! There has been a lot of overland flooding in the rural areas around Fargo, which is rather unusual. Some of the small towns north and west of Fargo are experiencing their worst-ever floods. The rain we had over the weekend didn't help, either.

Here in Grand Forks, they've already closed 2 of the 3 bridges crossing the river.

If anyone's interested in the flood cams, here's the link:
