DH used to listen during his drive when he worked nights at a Ford-owned factory. Now he works days in a non-automotive plant (medical devices). Hasn't listened in a long time.

Funny story:

Many years ago, DH took the Jeep (softop) to a friends and they played video games (either Doom3 or Duke Nukem. can't remember) until the wee hours of the morning. Was listening to Art on the drive home. Softop Jeeps are extremely noisy at highway speeds, so he had the volume up....high. Pulled in the drive, and it woke me up. Or garage is detached, about 20+/- yards behind the house. I could hear the radio plainly in the front room of the house. I kept thinking to myself, "He's gotta turn it down now....He's gotta turn it down now...He's gotta turn it down now...He's gotta turn it down now" after about 10 minutes, he didn't. I realized I hadda pee, so went to the bathroom. He still had the radio up when I finished. So I decided to go out there to A) remind him that it was 3 am and neighbors could probably hear too, and B) find out if he was planning on sleeping out there. So I pad out in my jammies, barefoot, and he's got his back to the door of the Jeep, sitting inside it listening to Art. I tapped on the window.

His head whipped around, he threw his hands in the air, and he let out the girliest scream......

Seemed Art was talking about UFOs or ghosts or something like that, and DH did not notice me approach the vehicle.

I was laughing so hard, I was glad I went to go pee earlier. When we got back inside, it took me forever to get back to sleep - every time I was about to doze off, I would start giggling, and DH would nudge me and say "shuddup"

Gone through allof Art's ups and downs, love George, and am trying to like Ian. Lastnight was a good show. Seemed like the old days when the mysteries ofthe night--or wee hours of the morning--could be magical and anythingcould be possible. aeromom

I used to listen to CBC Overnight from 1 am to 5 am but now I download podcasts from all over the world, even Al Jazeera, and listen to them. I find it good to listen to what other countries make of the same news around the world. There are often great documentaries available too, just listened to one about Pacific Salmon up in Oregon that I enjoyed very much. I'd never find these items any other way.

Well, not really. The true story about how I got my screen name is thus:

In December 1995, DH & I bought our first BRAND NEW vehicle - a 1995 Jeep Rio Grande Edition with soft top. I proudly emailed a picture of it to my friend in Los Angeles. She said, "Rudy's Jeep is that EXACT same shade of blue!" Ummm... my Jeep is green. According to the price sticker, Metallic Moss Green, to be exact. I told her she was either color blind, needed a new monitor, or what she was seeing was the blue from the sky reflecting (the latter was more likely, but the former two were more fun to joke about).

We bantered back and forth, about how my Jeep changed colors - with my moods.... like those fad fashion accessories from back in the 1960-70 era, the magic mood rings (actually, a clear stone with a temperature sensitive dot behind it - made of the same stuff you see in pet shops that you adhere to the outside of you tropical fish aquarium - it changes color with the temperature of the water, thus you know to adjust the water temp so your expensive & beautiful fish don't die).

And thus, Magic Mood Jeep was coined.....

I prefer to go to the following for news in the middle east. It is the most unbiased that I have come across.
