OT:USS RR returns, I am Thankful

The USS Ronald Reagan returns today to San Diego after 6 months out to sea. DS Chris will be returning in time for Thanksgiving with Aya and Kaito. I have been following this tour (DS's first)with awe. The things that they, the crew did and the places they went is impressive.

I was in the Navy in the 70's (Hospital Corps) and there were not as many of these opportunities available for women in the armed services. I would like to share some of this tour with those that are interested.

at May for this current tour. I have much to be thankful for this year. DDiL Aya has survived being by herself. It was not easy coming from Japan, being afraid that she didn't know enough of the language, keeping up a place of her own, chasing DGS Kai and being pregnant again. I wish I was there today. I will add my thoughts and prayers to those who are not with their loved ones through the holiday season.

Will your son & his family be with you for Thanksgiving? I should imagine that particular holiday meal might be a bit of a challenge for Kaito just yet! Sounds like both she and your DS managed to get along quite nicely during their separation . You have a right to be very proud of BOTH of them!! Kaito sounds like a wonderful DDiL and mother for you grandbabies. Good luck to the whole family and hope you all enjoy this holiday. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

DS and Aya will not be coming to NH just yet as Ayako is due the last week of January. I am flying out to San Diego January 7th and will stay until the end of February. Someone has to keep up with Kaito when mommy has baby brother Rikuto Anthony. I am hoping to get DH Tony to fly out the last week to see his new Grandson and fly home with me.

Great pictures! glad your son is home and will be with his family soon! I was in the Navy starting in the late 70sand retired 12 years ago, but never went out to sea! Got out just as the powers that be allowed women in my field onto combat vessels.

Have a nice holiday, Donna CTO2 retired (but since I've still got school-age girls, still getting up early!)
