stitching and reading

It's slowed down again (in the newsgroup and in my life), so here's some stitchy stuff....

Over the years, I've made several ornaments for a neighbor, and this weekend I borrowed them all back to scan for my "portfolio" notebook. Returned the ornaments to her, and left the notebook for her to look over and enjoy. She has seen most of the pieces over the years, but wanted to revisit them. I like to keep photos/scans of the things I've completed and given away. I tried to get the book semi-up-to-date before my "girls' getaway" weekend in November so I could show it to those faraway friends who don't visit my home. (We all meet in some resort.)

Tonight I want to work on a pair of crochet slippers (to be felted) for myself. It's *freezing* cold and today I thought I'd get frostbite while sitting in the basement wearing worn-out slippers. I need something warmer for my feet.

Yesterday I finished "The Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club." It was sort of a UK version of "The Friday Night Knitting Club." I really enjoyed it - protagonist had a dry wit that made me chuckle. It's a light read, very fun.

that's about it!

I never got around to taking pictures of the ornaments I made as gifts this year. I could have taken some yesterday of the ones I made DM but got them put away before I thought of it. Did "grab" the bookmark I made DM and got a picture of it. Your idea of a portfolio notebook is a great one.

Last night I worked on the background of the eyeglass case. And I've started the bookmark for myself. If it ever stops snowing here perhaps I'll really make some progress.

I started Sue Grafton's latest but have only managed about one chapter. Perhaps I'll get some read during lunch.
