Update on wedding sampler lettering dilemma

Well, I let too much time go by, the canvas I had at home was too fine, the stash I had produced the wrong colors, and I just don't feel like driving 60 miles for the supplies I'd need, or play the order and sweat their arrival game......so I've decided to just give them a very practical house type gift. Something in the food line, I think.

By the way, the wedding sampler I did back in 2006........the couple is divorcing!! Damn - I wonder what'll happen to the needlepoint. I'm sure neither one of em wants it for a memory. I wish I had a way to at least get the custom frame back - I could prob. reuse it myself. Should I drop a hint in some quarters, or just chalk it up? I hate to think of the whole shebang going into a landfill.

Maybe this is why I'm a bit gun-shy on doing any more of these things as gifts.

You could always give something without personalizing it !!! What about some nice table cloth ? or sewn table mats ? Lately i brought somebody a set of two aprons,[ people are staring to use those again] my special idea was a pocket for the mobile phone , with a tiny cloth by it`s side to wipe your hands before picking it up !!! mirjam

One would have thought - I find it very strange that William gave Catherine his mothers famed engagement ring. I can see giving it to her as a gift but as her engagement ring ? The remnants of a very failed marriage ?

I dunno, maybe I am superstitious.

Maybe a demonstration of his frugality?

I don't think so - though I am happy to read that they have listed charities and they want wedding presents in the form of donations to those charities - good idea.

I love it. I use aprons regularly, and our land-lines are wireless. Because of my hearing difficulties, I have to keep a phone set close by (I can't tell where sounds are coming from), so a pocket in the apron fills the bill perfectly. thanks for the idea.

You are welcome Alex , add a pocket to each apron , you can sew it on the apron, or hang it on the belt . mirjam
