Well the plan was

Stitch and watch Olympics this AM

No such luck - no coverage on the East Coast until lunch time.

So, I'm off to the grocery store for a rare, hockey season family meal tonight and other errands. I'll stitch tonight

My plan this am.....a big grocery shopping before the next snowstorm hits this pm. Got that done and now have to take DM for a dr visit. The flurries have already started. Perhaps I'll get some stitching done this afternoon. Tomorrow looks like another shoveling day. Some say 2-4, others 4-6. I'd like to wring that little groundhog's neck.

Makes sense with the three hour time difference. My DVR is recording it so I can watch whenever I get a chance comerical free and skipping events i'm not interested in. Hopefully I'll get a chance to stitch and watch this evening.

Great plan. Kind of like mine - however....AS I spent a couple of hours dealing with the ever-ongoing saga of mortgage modification hell....life delayed. But, at least I am now paralytic anymore (due to the horrors of erroneous bad mail from mortgage co.). DH off reffing this a.m. Early for the Challenge Cup - the U-16s this a.m. Home for quick lunch - and he just left to do the championship Bantam AA and then Midget U-16 AA games at some tourney being held in Ashburn this weekend. What fun. Anyone interested in awesome girls hockey - he worked the U-19's on Fri, Sat. They are amazing - a couple of US girls on the national team (not this Olympics). Seriously - a couple of those teams - better than the Chinese in the Olympics yesterday. For the curious - here's the link:

good officials, one of his partners just found out she'll be doing thewomen's NCAA tourney. But, that said, I came upstairs, jumped in shower, going to carpool him to rink, so I can go to Joann's with sale coupons...and he decided to go ahead as he didn't want to be later. What do I see as I come into the office to print out the G-Street coupons (alternative to Joann's)....Snow. SNOW....MORE SNOW...... BIG FLUFFY DENSE FAST FLYING FLAKES! AAAAAUUUUUGGGHH. There was black ice on the roads this a.m. As the temp has been in the teens, to low 20s. And, now since DH took the Expedition, I have the little TT. Which is fab in snow with it's 4-wheel all the time drive, but it's a low to the ground car. Fine if we didn't have all this stuff built up....and now more. But, I expect I'll be fine if I hustle my way onto the road right now, and hey, it has seat heaters. Just 'cause I have to take advantage of the Joann's sale/coupons. Snow wasn't supposed to come til later. We're in the 6" place. What fun.

You have my permission to remind me of this crummy winter in your area when I complain about the crummy summer in mine. At least with hot weather, unless there's a power problem, I can get out.

As of 7 pm the official count was 1.5 inches. Now they're saying 1 to 3 overnight. Oh, and of course we're to get 1 inch of lake effect snow each of the next 3 or 4 days. At least we got out of the single digits we had this am.

Well, there is no school, the forecast was 5-9 but has been down graded to

4-8.

While there is a light dusting, it's not snowing right now.

Oh well, as long as the weekend is clear. It's playoff time

WeONLY got about 3. 2.5 at the airport (official reporting station) at 11 pm. Of course we're still getting that lake effect stuff. And the thing is none of it is melting. If anyone want to know how glaciers are formed ....just look at the snow piles in our yard. So...shoveled when I went for the paper this am. Knocked down icicles.

Did manage to stitch abou 200 stitches on the fractal "bookmark" yesterday afternoon and early evening.

Off to do some chores so I can watch the first rounds of olympic hockey this afternoon.

Speaking of which, I just gotta brag a bit... I *must* point out that the twins, Jocelyne & Monique Lamoureux, on the US Women's Olympic Hockey hail from...... wait for it...... Grand Forks (where I live)!!!!!!! Jocelyne scored a goal and Monique set a U.S. women's Olympic record with four assists.

Just sayin'...... :)

Totally worth saying. It's pretty funny that the announcers refer to them as "the twin with the long hair" or "the other twin." We're hoping to get better scoop from our friend who normally does versus, and the Olympics for Westwood Radio. We're hoping the Nothing But Crosby network family might, just might give him something - I really don't like listening to Doc Emrick all the friggin' time. Him, and Costas - I just want to say "be quiet" - and of course Eddie O - homerisms are me.

Glad the twins look good. Seriously, the hockey here for the tourney - looked better than the women's olympic games - for the most part - so far. Parity thing. Those big time U-19 girls are the ones who end up on the US & Canadian teams.

I hate most of the announcers for all the events. And the entire household hates Squidney...

WOW!! Hate is a strong word! I'm curious as to what he's done to deserve the animosity of your entire household.

I read that and assumed it didn't mean Crosby as everything I have read or seen about him shows me an unassuming, kind, caring young man. Not a bit like some others who are full of themselves. I really don't follow hockey but I have seen him when he returns here and it was all good.

Yeah, I'd agree. We don't hate him, though at the last CAPS/Pens game, when Alex got the hot trick, we were waiting to see if the kid was going to ask the refs to "announce for the people to stop throwing hats" as he did last season. Personally, we don't boo other team athletes - as a fan/purist of the sport, you have to recognize and appreciate skills/talent, etc. But, I can dislike the actions, antics of some. And certainly be disgusted with some of the out to hurt the opponent guys.

Unfortunately, in some ways the media fawning does contribute to non-fans getting sick and tired of certain players. And, well, as a player Crosby does use his stardom as the NHL poster boy to complain a lot about little things during games, press conferences, etc. But, hate, well, I'm sure Cheryl is indulging in some hyperbole......

We're Rangers fans, in general, we "hate" all the Pittsburg player nearly as much as we "hate" the Islander players. :)
