What are we going to stitch next??

Kicking off a thread, as Lucille would have wished.

I have done nothing for a while. I did start "My cross-stitch" page on Facebook, for those who frequent it. Check my profile. Much to post, but so much more of which I have no pics.

I have decided to get myself back to putting thread through needle very easily. I am going to do "Bad Hare Day" from Hillside Samplings for my Landfill's widow, who says her beauty shop will remain open. It is small...all kitted up, and a great incentive to do more.

Now, folks, what are you up to, and what is in the wings.

Just saw my post from last night. Spellcheck did a clever trick, which I didn't notice then. I do not have a Landfill, but do have a "late DFIL".

Sometimes a spell checker rocks !

I am knitting at the moment, have crocheted five afghans since last Xmas ready for next Xmas and am now back on socks.

I have recently picked up a book again; somehow I got out of the routine of reading but urged on by Lucille bought an ereader and that's such a convenient way to read.

Currently reading Whistleblower by Kathryn Bolkovac and then on to Message from an Unknown Chinese Mother - which sounds like it will be a difficult read.

I also downloaded a lot of poetry from the Gutenberg Project which is enjoyable.

well, thanks to a few FB stitching friends, I got involved with a cross continent round robin. My current piece is for Katya in Russia and it a piece called "Houses" from Soda. (a Korean designer). Way way outside my normal stitching zone, being very cutesy.

I'll get my next piece in a week or so, about the time I send Houses along to the next stitcher.

-- I'm back at my "seasonal" job. Despite all, shoes are selling fast and furious.

I just started a Peace on Earth Xmas hanging....slightly larger than an orni. I'm hoping to stretch it out to take on vacation. Also I finally opened the Textile Heritage Lilies of the Valley bookmark and plan to take that along as well. Still on a break from Fractal 53.

I'm about 1/2 done with the last wise man on my nativity, which leaves

2 camels left to do. I left those for last cuz they're going to be the fun ones with lots of different beads and metallics on them, plus I'm also thinking of doing their bodies with Wisper.

I think before I start the camels, though, I'm going to do something small and quick...and something with colors other than "antique" shades of floss. It's beeeauuutiful little thread-winder case (name of which escapes me at the moment) that I got from Mavia after she had stitched it. It's on rctnp in her stuff if you want to take a look. Unfortunately, she wouldn't part with the gorgeous butterfly thread- winder!!! :)

Saw your comment about spell-check. LOLOL! I *was* wondering about the "Landfill's widow" thing!

I'm about 3/4 through "Dog Lessons for People" by Lizzie Kate and about 1/4 through "Amazing Colors". I am doing entirely in my own color scheme - which is pretty much whatever strikes my fancy as I do each square.

We're head to Naperville over Labor Day and I intend to hit Designer's Desk and Tomorrow's Heirlooms when there to pick up a bit of stash....
