What are we stitching?

I thought it was time for another round...

I'm nearing completion of Judy Dixon's "Morning light". I'm just starting the outer row and then there's the bs, French knots & beading left to do. I didn't want to spend $6+ for one skein of floss, so I'm stitching the outer row with a skein of Eterna silk (thank you Gill!) that's a bit darker. You can see the design here:

All this after not doing much needlework except a few ornis in the last several years. I did finish an orni that had been the UFO pile for more than two years so maybe I'm back in the swing of stitching more regularly.

I have been working on Sunlit Irises by Kustum Krafts. I haven't done a lot this summer due to neck and back problems and then I have been working in the weed bed to clear it out and get it ready to plant grass. Sharon in MN

Oooo, that's pretty! I've always liked their patterns. I have 3 or 4 of them.

I'm still working on The Nativity by Heaven & Earth Designs. It's slow goin g because of my pains. Got 3 1/2 rows to go before page 2 is finished. Afte r next Friday, I don't think I will be stitching for a few weeks as I'm hav ing an operation to remove the stimulator they put in a year ago for the pa in that didn't work from day 1. :( (it's caused more pain than it's taken away). I do hope to finish page 2 before then. Even though I don't stitch l ike I want to, I do try to get at least 20 stitches done a day. At this rat e, I've got about a year left till a finished project. LOL

Still working on the second animal (Hawaiian Short Eared Owl) of my great n ephew's birth sampler. Only 10 more to go but I started with the biggest a nd/or most complicated so it will go more quickly as I get along. BUT, a ba by brother (Liam) is expected in December so I'll have another to plan! The next one will be maybe a cowboy/ranch/miner theme since the little family has moved from Hawaii to Nevada (more affordable). :-) I'm also working on a Copper Butterfly project through my EGA chapter so I' l have to find time to squeeze the homework for that one in also.

Just finished "The Girls in the Guild" sampler by the Purple Thread. I did it on dark navy fabric with white and pale blue silk. Back to working on "Eleanor Parr" and "Le Bal d' Anastasie" which is totally beaded on fabric.

I would love to see the beaded work. I too am beading but weaving bracelets. Since I am heading up to 80 my eyes will only let me work for short periods even using Mag-eyes. I have not done any embroidery of any kind for a long time. I often think of the people who used to be on this group at the time I made a Christmas ornament for HM The Queens Christmas tree back in the late 1990's Hugs To all

Shirley, I remember that! I wasn't an active participator at the time, I lurked and learned so much. Also found future projects from other's post. (like that 5 panel Nativity). What a joy it is to hear from people whose post in the past I remember.

Slowly plugging away at TW's Celestial Dragon. Started a new food kick that has me in the kitchen more than I expected. Plus with school starting soon, more of my evening time is taken helping type up DW's lessons and tests and worksheets.

If we tell you, you might go there and we'd lose you!!!

Sorry, I don't know, either. I, also, am glad this post got so many responses! You guys/gals need to speak up more! lol!

It's called RCTN on Facebook. This group and that one are not mutually exclusive.

Nothing at this time! My daughter and 2 kids were here for 18 days so everything stitching was put away. I am putting the house back in order now, I did get my stitching corner set back up. Now I have to go through my stash to find my next project. Or go to my LNS to see what I might find there.

Rich, I know how hard it is to stitch with family around. Small ones get in to the fibers and next thing you know they are all over the place. Bigger o ne's (kids) find a pair of scissors and they just have to cut something. (t his happened to me on one of my Celtic seasons, luckily I was able to mend it so it doesn't show. Since my kids moved away, the only thing I have to w orry about now is one of the dogs chewing the pattern. I make a copy and us e it, and put the original out of reach to solve that problem. I'm gonna t ry to do some stitching today, if I can sit long enough. Everyone have a gr eat stitching day! No frogging allowed!

I have to take issue with "No frogging allowed." Frogging has a bad name, b ut like laundry or taking out the trash, sometimes you just have to do it. A few minutes frogging and redoing something right now can save a lot of co nfusion and headache down the line. So unless it REALLY doesn't matter, fro g away unapologetically!

Right on, Danny! LOL! If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well. That's my policy for needlework, anyway...

Started ANOTHER project, as if The Nativity wasn't enough! lol. Needed som ething I could do laying in bed, so I'm now making a crochet American flag afghan. Still working on the cross stitch, but can't stay seated, standing or walking for a long period of time and needed something to keep me occupi ed. (I hate keeping still). Also needed a change. 8,897 stitches so far and haven't finished page 2 yet.

I love your choice of patterns Joan and your work is so perfect. Right now I'm working on Cardinal in Winter (Cross My Heart, Inc. Winter Wonderland) . I'm down to the fussy bottom part which is grass, branches and any other thing that requires 15 shades of brown, grey, green, etc. :-) I haven't r eally decided on my next project but it may be a small Heaven & Earth Chris tmas Ornament - what design do they have that's small? :-) I love peekin g in to see what everyone is working on.
