hello, could anyone give some specifics on the firing schedule that you would use to fire thick sculptures? i plan to dry them out first for a few days. im using an electric kiln and want to bisque fire them to 06.
Are you going to fire them higher later? Most clays a very brittle still at that temp, if you are not going to glaze them, even for sculptural work I think it is better to fire to specifications of the clay. Just get to temp but treat the whole firing as a bisqu fire schedule I work in celcius Make sure your work is very dry, to be even more sure, fire the kiln up to
150C the night before (increasing speed no faster than 100C per hour) and leave it to cool overnight. Then increase temp by 100C per hour to 600C Then increase temp by 150Cper hour to top temp. Good luck
