Kudos to Wayne: Bikextruder in Clay Times

Kudos to Wayne Seidl for his Bikextruder in Clay Times (Nov/Dec 2007, pg 64)! For those who didn't get this issue, the Bikextruder is made totally from parts scrounged after a hurricane came through his part of Florida. A vertical piece of PVC pipe has a slot in it where you insert a plug of clay, then you turn a bicycle wheel whose sprocket drives a chain attached to the plunger. Clever design... good job, Wayne!

Why, thank you Bob (blush). I wasn't sure anyone would notice . For those of you that do not receive Clay Times, I will be more than happy to send you the pictures I've shot of the extruder while building it. Email me directly (wjsvt @ sover . net) since i don't check this list every day. Best, Wayne Seidl

Gee, maybe you just need a hurricane, like Wayne had. That'll provide lots of parts, at least... ;-)

You know.... I think I'll pass on that one! I went through a Hurricane was about 2 decades ago and even though I loved the beauty of it, I would rather not wish that on other people for my own entertainment. My guess is that I will have to wait for Spring and garage sale season. Silly people don't have them out here on Long Island after Halloween.

You all have a great Turkey day in the U.S. and for others - hope your up coming holiday, whatever it may be, is grand! I'm looking forward to my baby coming home, busting my ass cooking all day in order to spend 20 minutes inhaling the food and then spending the rest of the day cleaning up and trying to find room for leftovers. We do know how to have fun....
