need some help on double walling pots

what I want to make is a double walled pot, I want to peirce the outer "skin" to reviel the inner pot, but still have it a useful vessle.

Ive tried nesting letherhard pots, but the tops are cracking along the lip seam, during firing and drying. I also tried doube throwing two pots at once, like a salsa dish, only higher, but I dont have enough room between the walls to continue to throw (my fingers wont fit) ..

I havent seen anyone else do this kind of form, som im kind of trying to work it oout on my own....

I haven't tried this myself, but I'd guess that if the space between the inner and outer pots extends under the base, so that the inner pot is hanging by its top rim, then you should dry it inverted (rim against a solid surface) so there is no stress on that joint.

If the inner pot is not hanging (solid base connecting both pots) the inversion may not be as important, but it might still help even out the drying. Or keep the top rim covered in plastic,
