Brad,
That is excellent; simple, direct, and very informative. I wish all videos could be as clear.
Well done.

Brill! I like the part about beginners being put off by demonstrating pots thrown in a minute. I was chuffed earlier to be able to throw 4 soup bowls in three quarters of an hour! Oops... Ok..... so I need to brush up on my speed! Currently working on getting the hubby to open his wallet so I can order these. Watch out for the moths. :-))
Brad what cost to ship these to UK?

I'll check at the Post Office tomorrow. Thanks for the comments (not sure about the crow bar...) Brad
The United States Postal Service is on-line
Well, that's true, but when you click on the tab for estimating international postage, it makes you put in their zip code. Since there are no zip copes internationally, it makes it a bit difficult. That's USPS efficency for you. However I perused the shipping chart and it looks to be $8-$16.00 depending on weight, so I think I'll ask my local postal person. Brad

I don't like to use paper on the outside of packages because I am afraid it will get caught and torn off. Blacking out, as you say, is time-consuming.
Last year I began using spray paint, it's very quick. Some inks bleed through, but the spray primer works well in that case.

This pertains to one of my questions in the "Harnessing the Internet" thread What shipper is preferred? I'd go with the USPS because it is closer (to my house) and with the website I can pre-pay on-line and drop off my packages at the Post Office. There is also the pick-up option. There is a UPS store in my burb and I don't know about Fed Ex. I see a lot of companies rely on Fed Ex. As a customer, I've had frustrations with Fed Ex. Fed Ex always loses the small packages.

I live in a small town, where the USPS is two blocks away with no lines, and the competion is 15 miles away. I think historically stuff got batted around worse by the USPS, but I've had pretty good luck shipping with them in recent years. Brad
I've used the pickup option in the past (for eBay sales) and it works very well. I've always left my packages out, but they have an option for "knock on door" or somesuch which I haven't had the need to try. The pickup service is _free_ if they can pick it up with the regular mail delivery, but they charge for it if pickup has to be in a specific time frame.
I used to hate mailing stuff for eBay auctions, but nowdays it's incredibly simple. I can get the USPS to deliver me _free_ boxes, I can print out postage labels on the web with no surcharges, and I can get the PO to pick it up for free.
Hi Carl, Do you do a lot of eBay sales? Is it your original work or other stuff. Do you have an eBay store?
BTW, like your signature. -nancy-
No pottery at this point. My wife does costumes (renfaire and furry) and teddy bears and sells quite a bit of stuff. She's been shipping out two or three things a week lately.
I've been trying to clear out years of various hobbies eBay... selling off my chess books, collectables, DVD sets, things like that. I haven't sold a lot of stuff on eBay myself in the last year. But my wife uses PayPal and online postage for all of her stuff.
Thanks Carl! -nancy-
