Potters' Newsgroups Without Spam?

Seems that when I log on and look at the news group there are as many non-potter things here as not. I know this is not a "moderated" group, which I like in principle, but maybe it would be nice if there were a moderated group. You know, one in which only pottery stuff made it to the table. Does anyone know of one, or have any interest in moderating one?

i don't know how it comes thru on your screen, but on mine via google groups i can see a decent list & can easily spot the spam.

~ and i confess to getting into off topic areas like onion soup....

Often the room is so quiet that if we didn't have spam we would have nothing at all.

Because "all" the potters are on the Clayart mailing list.

i never liked the idea of getting the clayart mail. it sure fills up the mailbox. also i heard they get virus trouble more often then not.

meanwhile reading the topics on those various sites without being able to contribute is like listening to a conversation you can't participate in.

I agree. While I like clayart as a resource it is more like browsing through a magazine than visiting an active room. There also seems to be something terribly wrong with it right now.
