At first I thought this might be one of us declaring a need for Happy Dancing. Quickly realizing it was only an ad I clicked over to see what was being offered. 36" square quilts for $ 120.00 Really? Polly

LOL, I would make nothing but 36" baby quilts if I could sell them for $120 each. Snarfl

Think I could just about manage a single large 9-patch with borders. Shall we set up in opposition!

Hmmm, the wool felted ornaments look like the real money maker. $35 for a 'yellow star'. 6 inches of felted wool fluff. (There is a bonus... there may be cat hairs in with the wool).

I have a load of crib quilts to get to the Shelter. Reckon I'm going to need an armed guard if they're worth that much? Maybe just 2 or 3 smiling gators would do. Polly

Must have taken a long time to sew 9 squares of fabric together--and think of the time it took to choose fabrics . Mary

Playing a little devil's advocate here.... The pattern is not quite that simple -- it looks 5 of the bigger squares are also nine-patches, similar to a single Irish chain. Still pretty simple though. I think I could whip one up in a couple hours. She says she is using good quality cotton fabric and Warm'n'Safe batting; if she's getting all her supplies at retail, she may have $30-40 in materials for each quilt. Figure in something for your investment in equipment and tools and add your labor costs and you do not have an inexpensive gift. Still $120 sounds a bit steep.

So did I, Polly. And add $9 shipping to that $120 too. Pretty pricey, I thought.

OMG I think I'm in the wrong business!! Hmm well I'm not in any, but it makes you think. If I thought I could get these prices I would definitely start up one. LOL, reduce my stash and get money for it too... sure DH would approve. NAH! Elly... hmmmm? I wonder how many actually buy them.
