a geometrical quilt done

Finished the first design in Pat's new book and thought you might like to see. I know some others are doing some of them. And again, well done Pat for clear and easy instructions plus beautiful ideas! This one's going to DD2 for her new office. She got promoted to a private room but lost outside windows, so she needs something bright :-)

WOW!! That's a geometrical design?? When I hear "geometrical" I think angles and sharp edges, not flowing designs ... simply GORGEOUS!!

The quilting you did is stunning, Roberta ... I hope you've already patted yourself on the back!!! Your daughter's going to LOVE it!! And if she should ever get an office (congrats on her promotion, BTW!!) with a window, I will be more than happy to take the quilt off her hands!! It will be *such* a sacrifice (VBG), but I'll do it ...

Now, I have to go and get Pat's book so I can make my own!! Kudos to Pat!!! WOW!!!

Wow, Roberta. Thank you for the kind words. The little quilt looks beautiful - much more elaborate quilting than on mine >gg

Forgot to ask - was it paper-pieced or from oodles of skinny triangles?? If it was traditionally pieced, you get extra kudos for such perfect points!!!

How beautiful. I know it must be quite a thrill for Pat to see. (When I do one, it's going to scare the stuffing out of her.) She's not to worry. Nobody will recognize it. I'm so glad to see you have enjoyed Pat's pattern; so wonderful to see 'our own' excel. Polly

I don't know where to start gushing.... Roberta that is gorgeous and simply perfect. Pat, what can I say? I am overwhelmed with the design. I'm Happy Dancing for both of you. This is a beautiful collaboration.

Omigosh, Roberta! That's *gorgeous*! I love the pattern, and I *really* love the quilting you did on it -- it's just a perfect choice. Congratulations on a terrific job!

I'm trying to decide which one to start with -- I need to make one of these this year, and I'm thinking that our guild challenge might be the perfect "vehicle" for it. We were to use two specific black/white prints (they were in our packet), along with any other black/white prints we like, and adding only one other color. I think perhaps the Baravelle Spiral might be just the thing ....

It certainly is, Polly. And I truly hope you do one someday - I can wait to see a geometrical quilt with bugs and snowmen and other furry creatures on it - perhaps a flower? >g< . In message , Polly Esther writes

Thanks Sunny. I can't explain what a thrill this has been. . In message , Sunny writes

Oh, I can see it now, Sandy! Lovely idea. It's one of my favourite patterns - though the first few rounds at the centre are tricky to hold, with the large paper; but after that, it's a doddle!

And don't forget Polly's painted-on eyes on her various critters with that little dab of white to put the gleam in their eyes!
