Another message for Polly - on topic!

A while back you were asking about spraying adhesive onto your design wall material to make it sticky - I found this product mentioned in a Canadian catalogue - did some research for you to find a US supplier.

It isn't a large piece of fabric but it might help? I don't know how durable it might be or whether it would be good to leave hanging on the wall for long periods of time. It is made by Clover and I am sure that you could find answers to any questions quite easily before you ordered one (if you wanted to try it out). jennellh

Thank you, Jennell, but we almost have the problem solved. There was some cheap, thin (sleazy even) fabric that I used for tossing over my keyboard to protect it from the fuzzies that usually are billowing about in the sewing room. Don't know what the fabric's name is - it has a brushed flannel sort of texture and is very stretchy. Anyhow, just curious, I placed it on top of my pricey grided design wall cover. Quilt blocks stick to it quite nicely and it's possible to see the lines on the grid beneath. This story doesn't have a happy ending yet. The only piece of whatever this fabric is that's long enough is pink. White would be better. I haven't figured out how to search for it online since I don't know what to call it. Polly

Is it a fine knit? If so, it might be brushed tricot.

Or it could be the stuff that Jo-Ann's sells as "baby flannel", we always called it knit flannel. It is a very fine/thin brushed poly knit stuff, and was available in white at one time.

There's probably some at JoAnn's or Hancocks; just too hot outside to go look. No kidding. The Yorkie won't even venture outside unless I promise him a popsicle when we return. Polly

I agree with you. However I was out for a bit this afternoon. Had to take some stuff to the Post office to send off priority mail. Pictures soon.

Tomorrow I am going out to meet up with Shona down at one of the quilt shops about half way between where she is staying with relatives and my place. Any messages from anyone to her??

remind her she can 'wear' fabric home without cutting it. :) i'm sure you'll give her the details. also a wee pillow with strap worn over her shoulder. i got about 30 FQs in one pillow, iirc. used about 8 FQs on each side an bunched the rest up inside, oh and a couple for a handle. all without any cutting. then when you get home, unpick all the 'big stitches', wash/iron, fold and you're away laughing. then there is the layers and layers over your handbag, layer some more over the handle of your carry on bag. there is no end to the ways to use fabric without putting it inside your luggage. :) also i took all the notions out of any packaging, ya just toss it when ya get home anyhow. every little bit of weight helps. oh and have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)) she'll be pleased to know she is, at this very moment, missing the biggest baddest storm system in a quite a few years, running up the country from Fiordland to Northland. its a doozy. jeanne
