Backpack pattern

Have any of you used Lazy Girl's Chelsea Tote pattern? What did you think? Or have you made a backpack from another pattern? If so, what was the pattern? I like using a backpack. I have a nice one from LL Bean, but would also like something that's not quite so rugged looking for some occasions.

Just what I was looking for, for a prezzie for a lass I know who carries all her stuff around in a plastic bag. Thanks.

I have made the Chelsea a few times. In fact I am teaching it on Monday. My great-nephew got one for last Christmas and he liked it enough to say he was going to carry it on his trip to visit his dad. (Which I consider high praise from a 10 year old.) You do need a good needle, I recommend a denim size 14 or 16 for the construction because there are some pretty thick seams. Since you choose the fabric, this can be a really versatile pattern. Can be a bit "girly" or very masculine in tone. I like the way the strap is zippered to that it can be a one-shoulder sling bag, or a back pack style.

I found this one later: or . I like the outside pockets. McCall patterns are on sale for 99 cents at Hobby Lobby next week. I think I may have to go up there & get it.

Terrific pattern that features four basic bags. It encourages me to make a run to Joanne Fabrics. Thanks, Julia.
