Celebration time!!!

9 years ago, today....later in the afternoon, of course, Karen, QofS posted= to this group that my lovely little girl had arrived......

Well, one of the things she has requested is a "big" quilt since she's in a= twin bed and the toddler quilts are a bit too small....lol

AND, she has requested more sewing lessons and wants me to teach her how to= start making quilts!!!!

We have already chosen a pattern for her "big" quilt and the first row is d= one...she helped pin pieces together and actually changed the original layo= ut to something she thought was prettier.....the rest is waiting until she = can keep her room clean for more than 1 day.....if she can keep it clean fo= r 8 days straight (not spotless, just not piles of stuff everywhere), we wi= ll start working on the quilt again, and if she can keep it tidied up for a= month, we'll buy new paint since she wants it pink and purple.....

where has the time gone??? she's 9 and my son is rapidly approaching the t= eenage years!!! yikes!!!

How wonderful for you both - neither of my daughters like sewing and I am always being asked to do this or that when necessary. I started sewing about age 10 with my mother when she was doing piece work with baby overalls at home. I'd sew after school and when she was getting dinner - don't regret one minute of it.

Enjoy the time with your children, they grow sooooooooooo fast.

Di Beautiful sunny day in Crib Point today and I love it. "off kilter snipped-for-privacy@somwherequiet.net" wrote in message news: snipped-for-privacy@googlegroups.com...
