channel applique

Can anybody explain channel applique method? I'm really curious about it, looks great, but really don't want to buy a pattern to get the instruction.

It's just a form of reverse applique.

Layer two fabrics both right sides up, and then draw a line (or picture) on the top fabric. Cut along the line. Turn a tiny seam on both cut edges (either side of the original drawn line) and you will have about 1/4" of the bottom fabric showing through.

If the bottom fabric is black and the top fabric is multi colour you have a stained glass effect.

The more common/traditional form of stained glass reverse applique would have the black fabric on top and you would cut holes in the black (turning under the raw edges) to show the colour from beneath.
