Chaos Harmony--posted a few pics

I just posted a few pictures of my Chaos Harmony quilt top. It's on the block making up the top half. The rest of the pictures are still in the camera. My CH is in pastels with a creme bg--not the brights with black bg. Click on the link below then quilting stuff then the folder for CH. I have the quilt top complete but am waiting to put the back on when I am more confident about getting it on right. I like this top too much to screw it up! :) I have no problem MQ basic SITD or outlining, just getting the backing straight and even.

For this quilt I will be doing the divide & conquer method. The top is in 2 pieces and I will sandwich each piece separately, leaving the backing on one edge long enought to turn under to hide the raw seams on the center back.

If anybody is interested in this quilt, the directions will only be up for another month. It was really fun to do and was a great sampler.

Hullo Kathy I love this. Thanks for sharing it. I know a lot of people prefer brights - but I don't!!! It looks like a really lovely pattern, and I could live with it very easily indeed. But then, I'm sure you can too >GI just posted a few pictures of my Chaos Harmony quilt top. It's on the

Wow! that's one quilt with "traditional" blocks I'm tempted to make! Love those jewel tones!

Went to see the original design, then to see yours. I'd MUCH rather sleep under yours. Want to send it out for a test drive when you are done? I'll even wash it for you!

Well I did not sew the top half to the bottom half. I will quilt each half separately. The lower half I will quilt to the center edge and out to the where the inside borders start. The top half I will quilt to within 1" of the the center edge and to the inside border. The top half of the backing only will have extra fabric at the center. Then sew the center seam together without catching in that one layer of backing then hand stitch the center seam down to cover the raw edges and finish quilting the parts you didnt do. Then quilt the borders after its all together. For Chaos Harmony I have all the border on and they will seam at the center like the rest. But you could just sew on one border with that center seam and do the out border after the rest done.

Dont know if I make since but it is sorta what I figured out form this newsgroups over time.

Well this is a good quilt to do it on since every block is different.

You're right Mim - samplers look too obvious most of the time.

Kathy - I like your soft colors - it's looking very pastel on my monitor - or is it darker? Did you use a certain line of Fabric.

I love your color choices on that BOM, and you've done a marvelous job on it. (Your other quilts are wonderful as well.) HappyDancing in the MN rainstorm for ya'. :^)
