China dishes quilt finished!

My third quilt is finally done! This will be a Christmas present for a dear friend who loves blue and collects antique blue and white china. I think she'll love it. It went fairly simple as far as quilting it goes. I used stippling for the edge and a curvy grid pattern for the interior of it. Easy beginner sewing methods. My next project will be to finish a canning jar or bug jar quilt that I found half done at St. Vincents. I'll have to take a block apart to get a pattern to complete it. Here's my link:

Thank you for the nice compliments. It feels so good to get them. My husbands only comment was, "you're getting better." lol He does, however, realize the time involved in making even a smaller one. I've been sewing most evenings and he has the remote control all to himself. (which I'm sure he loves) My guess is that he'll be asking me soon when the next one will be started! Donna

You're so right, Donna -- it's a thrill to finish, and you have every right to be delighted with the way this one turned out! Have I mentioned how much I love blue and white? Just in case your friend decides to switch to green and yellow or something? ;)

That looks great, Donna. Yes, I think your friend will love it. Did all the blues come from your stash or did you have fun buying them?

Louise, I had to buy the white/blue border toile (sp?) fabric. The rest was stash stuff that I had. I've put together a pink/white collection out of stash to use on the same pattern sometime in the future. You know those all floral dishes from England called chintz? I could make the pink/white one to mimic those dishes. Maybe this winter or something. I have a few more patterns I want to try. I've been trying to find patterns where I can learn a new block design each time. By the time I'm 100 or so, I should know quite a few! : ) Donna
