Well it's only 70 days away over here - probably 71 for most of you still lol

The HST background sure add a lot of interest! Looks lovely!

How did you do all those HST? Thangles or another type of triangle paper - or another method? Surely you didn't cut a gazillion triangles! :-)

That's really cute, Cheryl! It's *sort of* like one I made years ago , since it's all HSTs, but I like yours better. :)

Squares RST, mark the diagonal line, sew 1/4" either side and cut down the middle. The formula is add 7/8" to the finished size to get the size of the square to cut (instead of the normal 1/2" for seams).

Sewing this is a bit of a no-brainer - just chain piece all the squares, cut them in half, join all the squares lol

I never liked Thangles much.

Yes - T is making doggie ones for both her little princesses, and I am making two for a friend who has just adopted two feline "monsters" lol

I can sit back and laugh at you all this year. I just gave my huge tree and all the decorations away to a local nursing home. I am suspending classes before Christmas for at least a month. I am going to hibernate.

If you don't have family Christmas doesn't mean quite the same thing. I have worked most Christmases so that those with families could go home. I think I did 18 of 21 Duty Officers on Christmas, and about 15 on New Years'. Now that I am "home" and "retired" Christmas is more than likely the day I will clean my carpets, or rehang the curtains, or something similar. It is about the only day of the year I know no-one will "just pop in" to interupt me.

It's not that I dislike the interuptions - it's just that it's nice to have some down time every now and then. So Christmas is my "down time".

So I am gonna sit back and watch the chaos everyone else experiences with a VBEG on my face

Enjoy!!

That's really cute, Cheryl! I like the idea of having somewhere to hang ornaments other than on a tree. I also keep thinking about how to design an advent calendar, since I've been wanting one for a few years, and I could add the advent pockets to the sky on your quilt. Hmmmmmm.

Have you seen the cats advent calendar kit? I thought of you when I first saw it. Now every time I look for an advent calendar kit, it seems to be the only one I can find. This one (NAYY):

Yep - I saw it. I even bought one, but NOT for me. I am making it for a friend who is a fellow ailurophile. I may not get it finished for this Christmas though. The other fabrics in the series are also gorgeous.

Oh Sandy! That looks gorgeous! Maybe a good use for my red and green scraps after I finish my current project! Yeah!

You could make it easy on yourself and buy an already made one every year. I hear that some of them come with chocolate. What more could you want? lol Cute pattern.

Cheryl -- I really like this wallhanging! I live in a small apartment, and physically am unable to put up a tree and get it all decorated. However, I do have a nice bare wall in my living room that is just screaming to be the proud displayer of a Christmas Tree. How can I resist? And I love making my own decorations and ornaments, so that will be a lot of fun, too. I can even hang little things from my grandkids. Perfect!

Thank you so much for sharing it!
