Directory email tests have started!

Well, after a hell of a week trying to deal with a "change of season" cold, I finally can sit vertical long enough to do a few email tests. The email will arrive with a "read receipt" which you should return to me by clicking "yes" or "ok" or some other affirmative answer that may appear on your screen. You need do nothing more. The read receipt will confirm that your email is valid.

Now some of you might get two emails from me since, in my medicated stupor, I forgot to add the read receipt, but now I fixed that. But please, don't tell the others or they will all want two emails too! You know how that goes.

I didn't make it into my first directorycall J - just stick around! Get in for the next call if you don't make it this time.

Alice has such a tough call about who is real and who is a trouble-maker or troll - with, I'm pretty sure, not much help from us and must rely on her best judgment. So - thank you Alice for protecting us and our personal information from those who would abuse it. If you applied to the directory and don't get in, rest assured that it is not because your daddy is not on the School Board or because your mother didn't send cupcakes on the teacher's birthday. This is real life and identities are precious. Be patient and try again. Meanwhile and certainly, you are very welcome here. Polly

I have sorted the file by the "Yes", "No", "Don't know" responses and then by screen name. I am starting with the "Yes" responses and am through the screen names starting with A, B or C. Lisa, an email test WAS sent to you at the email you supplied which matches the email in your signature. It was sent at 8:04pm EDT last night. See if you missed it or your spam filter caught it. The emails have the subject line "Directory Email Test".

I did not see any option to click either OK or Yes. Hopefully, you got a read receipt anyway?

I have not seen a test email. I even checked my junk box. Hope I didn't overlook it and delete in from my junk mail!! Let me know what I need to do. Meanwhile, I will continue to watch both my inbox and my junk box. Thanks so much for all your work with the directory!!!

Could you perhaps post a message when all the e-mails have been sent. At the moment I have taken the filter off Junk Mail so hopefully I wont miss it when it comes - but I might and I would never know!

Thank you for all your hard work - I am filled with admiration. All my brains are used when I just write a reply!

Well, drat! You've obviously gotten mine as well as yours. ;) (Yes, I know -- my screen name hasn't come up yet. )

You replied "No" to the "Are you currently in the Directory" question. I'm testing the "Yes" emails first.

Alice, how long should we wait before being concerned if we attempted to sign up for the directory, but don't get a test email?

All test emails will be sent this weekend. Please don't think you didn't "pass the test" unless you don't hear from me by Monday morning. Check your spam filters first! I have over 275 emails to send, so please be patient!

Keep in mind that a "read receipt" doesn't work with all e-mail clients, so you may not get the receipt back.

Thanks, Trixie, I do realize that, but I think it's working ok so far. If I can handle the majority of the emails this way, I'll deal with the few exceptions in another way.
