done deal!

Made a deal for six quilts today! Great client -- very shrewd and decisive. Fell in love with the third pattern I showed her -- four rows of Wild Goose Chase with sashing and borders. Wants all six quilts in that pattern. Very easy to make (knock wood) -- scissor the "geese" out of her deceased husbands shirts, and quick cut the background triangles and sashing from whole cloth. I'll commission machine embroidery of her husband's name and date of birth on the quilt top. I think it would actually look quite good with a long-armed meander for the quilting, which would probably be the least expensive way to go.

We chose the shirts in about an hour -- several shirts for each grandchild's quilt, all neatly starched and ironed and still in the laundry plastic.

She appreciated the explanations in the memorandum of understanding and had no problem with any of its terms. I'll send out copies tomorrow to everybody here who has requested them.

I are tired. I'm going to get in bed with some graph paper to sketch out the design.

Woo-hoo! Way to go EP! Sounds like a win-win situation for the both of you. :-)

Now you really must take pics of these quilts. Not just for us, but for reference for any future clients you may take on.

That's awesome, EP! You are so lucky to have a good first client who can make a decision that fast. Keep us posted on how it goes, would you? I can't wait to see the first photos! Donna

You rock, Roberta! I'll have to study this to see if I can make it work for geese cut from garments, but I'm glad to have it for future use, at the least!

Thanks, ep
