Flower Garden Quilt

I just finished my largest project ever..I'd say it's a double-bed size. You can see it on Page 3 of my Webshots site.

My son had asked me to make a quilt to donate for an auction to benefit children with cancer. His MBA class at Penn State has a fund-raising auction every April. Well, I started this pattern, and it seemed to grow and grow! Luckily my husband and I were going to Virginia last week, and my friend there has a long-arm machine, AND she was able to quilt it for me! YEAH! I did do the borders myself! I'm very happy with the way it turned out and hope that they will make a big profit for a good cause.

Oh, that's so pretty Alice. What a great way to use florals. I hope it makes loads of money - I'm sure it will. . In message , Alice writes

Alice, it's beautiful! What pattern is it? This should raise a lot of money for a good cause AND give some generous person a beautiful heirloom quilt.

Oh, my gosh!!! That's beautiful, Alice. I hope the auction makes lots of money, too. And now I have an idea on what to do with all the tiny floral prints mom had in her stash!! Thanks.

This is simply gorgeous...it reminds me of a stroll through a Monet painting. :)

Yes, it would use up lots of florals...mine had 63 different ones. I got the idea from a friend who had a fabric swap in their guild. They only had to buy one or two florals each. I "acquired" all mine on my own...the good news is, I have enough left to make another quilt for myself!!

I'm not sure. I'm just calling mine "Flower Garden"! Anyone else know what the correct pattern name is?

Monet! I hadn't thought of that, but I do love his paintings! Thanks.

Hi Pat, Thanks for the dancing! Yes, Terry quilted it and I got the idea for doing it from pictures she sent from your guild. No, can't make the MAQF, although I'd love to! Have fun!
