Flying geese, one more time

I finally got enough projects cleared out so I could give the one-seam flying geese a try. Here's the original post from Dee in Oz

I made some little notes and got going. two 3" squares of dark, one 5½ x 3" rectangle folded. Put folded rectangle between the two dark squares - with - the folded edge ¼" away from the squares' edges. Made a little sketch so I'd get it right. Wrong. You stitch the edge of the sandwich along the side where: the folded edge leaves ¼" empty and on past to where all of the sandwich ingredients are. Stitching a different edge ( I tried the one where all the 'cut' edges were) will result in an interesting puzzle piece but no goose. If there's a way to get something this simple absolutely sideways, I will find it. Polly
