foot update

Saw doc and he's happy with how it's healing, so that's a good thing. He s= aid that he could tell by the minimal swelling that I haven't been up too m= uch (ha!). However, I had the opportunity to take a look at the work that = he did and I'm not very happy about it. I go back on the 6th for stitch re= moval and still have a week after that before I can have the pin removed an= d stop using the awkward angled shoe.

Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers....I just need a mood adjustment t= o get through the next few weeks.

Not happy about his work, as in his stitches? I'm happy he's happy! Now, keep not overdoing it!

I sometimes wonder: as a young girl (under 10, for sure) my Mum told me that her sewing teacher used to demand that the back of cross stitching looked as good as the front. Never the rebel, is it any wonder I'm obsessed???

Only when I started quilting at age 30 I learned (probably from you guys!) to look at something not perfect and ask myself if I could do it better if I ripped it out right now. If the answer is no, let it be. Sometimes good enough id good enough (but not always).

Oh, no, happy with his work if the toe actually stays straight after this. = When I said not happy, I was quite shocked when I saw all the bruising and= the yellow tip of the pin sticking out of my big toe....and the fact that = I have to wear the angled shoe for 2 more weeks.....my ankle is hurting, my= hips are hurting, my knees are hurting, and my back is all out of whack be= cause of how I have to walk, sit, and sleep....just extremely frustrating

A friend of mine had ankle surgery after years of problems. Once everything settled down after the surgery, he was entirely back to normal. I hope things will be as good for you after this is all done. Of course, you're trying to convince the toe to stay in a place it doesn't wanna be - take some time convincing it, and it may stay.

That's the plan - as soon as the stitches and pin are removed....well, that= or a nice hour-long massage. But....being able to sleep in the actual bed= helped a bit as well. I sleep on the couch Sunday-Thursday but Ken gives = me the bed Friday and Saturday...being able to shift around and get my foot= at the right angle was wonderful last night....don't think I woke up once!= Back is almost back to normal, but hip is still twitchy
