Free felting machines!

Got your attention with the word 'free'? :-) I was watching "Sewing With Sue"- if you have a sewing machine then you also have a felting machine at no additional cost! Her guest said to remove the bobbin case, use no thread and run the sm at a very high speed- then you have a 'free' felting machine from your sewing machine.

Cool! Another technique to play with!

It had crossed my mind that a felting machine effect could be produced with no thread . . . but I never got to where felting had a useful purpose. It's pretty but I've decorated everything but the Yorkie. Perhaps some Christmas tree ornaments? What do you think? Polly

I saw a demo of the very same thing - and the only caution is that felting with a normal machine will accumulate LOTS of fuzz in the bobbin case area - you have to be very alert to the need to clean out the lint often. A felting machine actually has a box to collect all the lint.\\Musicmaker
