That's a fair 'haul' Mary! I have added a good few assorted blocks to my own challenge quilt! I am working with black and white prints, mostly. I had a good collection of black and white. Nowadays, I seem to prefer TOT, plain or virtually plain. Using these prints is a bit tough, but I slip the odd almost plain in there; and one or two 'specls' of truly plain black and white >g< I am getting so boring in my old age! On Thursday I finished quite a neat block. It was made up of 1" squares and 1x2" rectangles. So, loads of points to match! However, I di my usual trick of putting a pin through exactly on the point and then pinning either side of that 'perpendicular' pin. I was amazed that I could get almost all matching exactly. I was thrilled. I had feared that, because of the 'drought time', I wouldn't be able to work as accurately as I used to. I'm much slower though - no bad thing, though I was always fairly slow >g<

Sounds like you might be caught up on most of the sewing. I haven't done any quilting, but I have done some alterations for friends before they went on a big trip. It kept me busy! Barbara in FL

Don't think I've been caught up for 10 years.

Our decision to spend the winter in Southern California has turned out to b e a very smart choice! The major quilting project I brought along was my De ar Jane quilt. I foolishly thought in 2 months of concentrated sewing I cou ld finish at least half the blocks. Most days I only finish one block. The re are just too many distractions. The beautiful weather calls me outside. I also purchased a series of monthly miniature quilt patterns by Kathy Schm itz at a store in Texas on the drive out. Each has a center embroidered de sign with a pieced border finishing 13x15. So far I've stitched 3 designs m ainly stitching in the evenings. When I sent a photo to my LQS back home th e owner decided to carry the patterns. As I finish stitching a center I mai l it back to her & she adds the border so she can use my work as the shop s ample.
