"Granny Square" Quilt

Anneke de Weerdt cleverly designed a quilt that looks like a Granny Square afghan. You can see it at:

I've added this to my to-do list (she gave me permission to use it and even provided an Electric Quilt (EQ) project file).

More of her quilts are on her blog at:

provides English translations of everything. Enjoy!

I've always wanted to try hand piecing a quilt and I think this will be the one :-). However, Anneka designed the EQ6 project to use Inklingo (NAYY), which:

  • includes partial patches that can be used to make square blocks and hence eases sewing it by machine.
  • prints all the appropriate cross-hairs in the seam allowance. This makes it easier to align patches by both hand and machine. As I'm going to do it by hand, I'll probably only use partial patches next to the border.
