Have picked the last ten blocks

For those of you following my anniversary quilt journey I reported earlier tonight that I have finished block #30. This leaves me only 10 more blocks to make to commemorate our 40 years together. I think the final 10 blocks will be as follows:

Crow's Feet (commemorating our growing old together) Crossed Roads Housewife Sunbonnet Sue Dapper Dave (renamed Sue's friend Sam) these two will be the only applique and will be on the back Dove in the Window (if I have the time and patience) Old Maid's Puzzle (I had planned to be an old maid!) Maple Leaves (four leaves) Weathervane Harmony Square (in honor or our many years in music ministry)

We will have company again this week end so I don't know if I will have much time to sew. The company won't be here very long as they just want to see Mom and know she can't take a long visit. The problem is this is my "neat and tidy" cousin. She doesn't expect absolute clean but there are several stacks of stuff that need to be cleared soon or they will topple. Might as well have them at least under control for my cousin's visit.

I certainly didn't notice anything that a "neat and tidy" cousin might object to. Don't make yourself crazy getting ready for her visit. I like the names of your last 10 blocks. I think you have a great collection of blocks to commemorate your marriage. Psssttt....everyone.....Susan has these blocks all printed out and put into protective sheets in a notebook. When a block is done, the block is stored in the protective sheet with the pattern. Everything is all in one place ready to be assembled. Very efficient and a great way to see the progress. Dave is going to love this!!!! Is your mom doing better?

Let's back up to the 'neat and tidy' cousin. I'm one. I need neat and tidy. It lets me pretend I'm in control of myself. Sometimes. Maybe. It doesn't mean that I need or expect it from anyone else. I'm perfectly happy visiting someone who doesn't suffer this ailment. As long as I don't get stuck down in something that a wrecker truck can't pull me loose from or have to use a whole lot of flea powder - a bit of bedlam doesn't bother me one bit. So. Let's get those ten blocks done and cousin can visit with mama - and she can put your scraps in inverse chronological order. Or something. Polly
