I did something quilty!

I hadnb't done anything quilty for ages--don't know why, but I hadn't.

Wednesday, my neighbor came over and asked me to make a wall hanging for her. She was going to visit an old friend in Oklahoma and wanted to take a quilty gift, but ran out of time. She needed it *Friday*.

I took a look at the block she had in mind (about 50 pieces per block) and said No Way. She said "fine, anything you want will be great." So, I made four little paper pieced house blocks, sashed and bordered 'em, machine quilted it, and handed it to her. She's happy, I accomplished something--and she's going to watch my kids for four Thursday evenings (going to SCA fighterpractice/arts and sciences meetings) for me! All in all-- It's A Good Thing.

We're just back from a family reunion. We met close by the Mississippi River at a paddle boat landing at Natchez. The convention ending just before us was Weight Watchers - bet that was a fun group, hated to have missed them. Meeting at the same time we were was a bunch of World War II Veterans. They were precious and having such a happy time. We were "getting loaded" this morning at the same time they were. By "getting loaded", I only mean we were checking out and packing our cars for homeward bound. I noticed that several of the WW II guys had hug quilts of patriotic themes in their packing. Made me proud. Polly

Now I love black forest cherry cake but where on earth do you get yogurt toffee ice cream???? Sounds heavenly!

MMMMmmmm ... even better than heavenly. :^) I had to run and look at it again for you, and is called Yogurt Caramel Toffee Crunch. Says is made with no sugar, but I see they use Splenda instead. It's a product made by Blue Bunny, and is sold in very small containers. They have another also, that's the Caramel Toffee Crunch and fat free as well, but I really have a thing for yogurt ice cream. *grins*

They're Bunny Tracks ice cream is another on top my list - Vanilla Ice Cream with Thick Fudge and Peanut Butter Caramel Ribbons, Chocolate coverd Peanuts and Peanut Butter filled Chocolate Bunnies.

And the Turtle Sundae - Vanilla Ice Cream loaded with Caramel filled Milk Chocolate Mini-Cups, Salted Pecans, and a Butter Caramel Ribbon.

Both of which have no sugar added and have been reduced in fat as well.

I wish our store carried ALL their flavors. I'd love to check out the Triple Raspberry Temptation, Peanut Butter Panic & the Toasted Almond Fudge too.

I've never been one to watch my diet, and always get some pretty strange looks whenever I eat or buy things as this (and I do it a lot!). I'd lost so much weight this past year and have been trying to put some back on. I've been doing loads of milkshakes. I power-pack 'em with lots of protein and soy, but get awfully tired of the too-sweet taste ... and DD doesn't need all that sweet stuff all the time either. *grins*

I've gained 8-lbs!!! Took me 2-1/2 months, but I did it. Now I have to work on 10 or 15 or 20 more. I feel for ANYone on a diet, 'cause it sure ain't easy!!!

Now I know I love you DeB!! We have the same taste in Ice Cream. Guess I'm gonna have to file these names away for our trip over to USA next year 'cause for sure they don't sell 'em here. Unless maybe that really expensive USA Foods shop (about 1/2 hour away) would sell it.... Hmmmm I smell a road trip.

He's Sharon's Eduardo. ;^) She sent him up here last December, and whilst she was away vacationing awhile ago ... guess where he turned up at (bringing lemonade of course). He took the slow plane home, just so's he could finish the pint he'd carried onboard with him.
