I went to the quilt group meeting last night...

It was just a general 'gather and natter' meeting, nice and social.

I got the program for next year: some interesting things happening.

I ordered some fabric through their fabric club: 4 yards for £12! A couple of William Morris type prints and a nice blue. Got 2 yards of that one as backing/sashing stuff...

And then I bought some cheapie bits from The Box of Stuff:

The Angler 2 perfect angle sewing tool Creative Grids Pineapple ruler (older, not non-slip version) R&R's 14" Universal Craft Frame

1 reel Empress Mills waxed cotton hand quilting thread

This lot set me back £11.50. Given that the frame at full price is £9.50, and the newer non-slip ruler is £11.75, I think I did well.

My hand quilted Sandy Lush cushion cover is now completed from the 'quilting the front' point of view. I need to make it up into a cushion cover and wash it now! Then it will be ready to become a gift, I think. It's pretty, but it isn't really 'me'. But I can see a hand quilted satin petticoat happening at some future date. Especially an oyster silk satin one, now that I have the most perfect Japanese satin brocade vintage silk length to make a jacket and shoes to go with it... That was an early burfdy prezzy from Little Sis.

The fibro is biting my paws and I'm shaking like an aspen leaf today, but I'm happy!

Sounds like a good group to me.

The gadgets will be useful. I like the Angler for speed piecing, and any ruler is a good idea. Glad the SL cushion is now completed, too. They are a good size and make up really well.

Talk to you soon, Nel
